Age discrimination

Yep, my sentence in retail was full of this crap as well. My wife was a definite victim of the discrimination at her last job (cashier for (b)Lowe's--both age AND sexual, she got treated badly because she was old and not gay).

And we keep running into it looking for other jobs as well: I would "conveniently" leave my age off my resume, and I would get some interest until they figured out my age, then I'd get dropped like a hot rock. And my wife suffered the same treatment.

So, yeah: employment criteria in this joint suck; and that they get away with this is even worse.
