60-80% of net.
-
I always thought it 95%. LOL
-
Depends on your contract with the company you are contracted with. Anywhere from 50-70% of the gross profit on the load.
-
I think op was asking how much broker makes. LS claims 20% on broker stuff but my findings have been 23% to 80% but I was told it's split between ls and agent.
-
So you are saying the broker and the owner / operator get a portion of the other 30%.
-
Without stepping on LSAgent OZR's toes, I'm certain that the other 30% goes to the brokerage firm as he stated it as a percentage of gross profit and not gross.
-
Why does the agent receive so much and how is the trucker paid?
-
The current contract is setup the following way to the best of my knowledge. It's been a while since we signed one.
BCO (our O/O division) - Agent gets 7% of 98% of the linehaul as commission for booking the load.
Approved Carrier (broker division) - Landstar takes 12% off the top and agent is left with 88% of gross amount to negotiate rate with carrier.russellkanning, swhisenhunt and trees Thank this. -
So correct me if im wrong .... LS (the corporation) takes 2% off top, then gives the load to the Agent, who then takes 7%, who then assigns the load to a BCO (-9%) and then LS takes another 26%?
In the broker division the agent is given the load at 88% .... If he can get a carrier to run it at 50% he can keep 38% no problem?
