So after my last incident I have begun doing a very rigid by the book pre trip. Taking 30 minutes on duty every morning to do it right.
Well today I hooked up to a trailer, did my walk around and a honest pretrip+air brake test. No real issue, minor air loss like 2 psi guage barely moved in 1 minute. Now I've been parked and cant keep air without truck running.
I KNOW it's in the trailer, but cant find where.It sounds like it's from somewhere on the passenger side near the tandems.
I've got experience working on equipment but not air brakes.
Suddenly after 200miles I have an issue out of no where. Anyone got advice on what to look for?
Very hot load delivers the 1st and I've got 400miles to go.

Do you have a trolley valve? I am assuming that you don’t have an air leak when the red valve is pulled out. Odds are it’s one of your brake chambers on the trailer.

Yes to the trolley valve. I left the parking brake set and pushed red knob in. Bad air leak. Push yellow knob in and pull red knob out no air leak.
Trolley valve down =rushing air sound under tandems. Hard to track because of noisy parking lot. There's a boss shop nearby I'll go to in the morning. -
It don't matter what the load it, get it fixed or have them replace the trailer.

Got an air line leaking in the trailer some where. Quiet possibly have an air tank drain valve open.
Its not a brake chamber or brake hose, they'd only leak when pedal was pressed.
Maybe a bad relay valve.tank4life Thanks this. -
I'm not advocating you do this, whenever I was in the middle of a delivery and a brake can started leaking, I would remove the airline and stick a dime inbetween the fitting and the line stopping air from going to said can till I could get a new can and fix it. Definitely Old skool.

The tractor protection valve. Yellow first. Forget the trailer, it's gone. That pops later.
