my 1999 fld112 single axle started leaking air from out of the relay/proportioning valve exhaust when the brakes are released(yellow button pushed in). i replaced the old one with a new unit as well as the 2 rear brake boosters and there was no change still leaking air. once the brake pedal is pressed or the yellow button out the air stops leaking. if i were to take my hand and block off the exhaust of valve the rear brakes apply and if i moved my had away it will release the brakes as if i were to release the brake pedal. this truck as bin putting a number on me for months now trying to figure out what cud be the problem.

Had the same thing on mine a while back. Turned out to be a bad brake chamber.
Hammer166 Thanks this. -
Yeah, doesn't happen as often as a blown diaphram, but internal failures within the brakecan can cause this.
-
I sugest spring brake chamber too
-
Yep, I'll pile on. The seal around the shaft between the parking brake and service brake side of the brake can starts leaking, sending air back up to the service brake valve when you supply air to release the parking brake. If you can chock the tires and remove the service brake lines from the cans, you should be able to find which one is leaking by covering the service brake valve fitting on the can. The offending brake will apply with the service port blocked. If that doesn't locate the problem, we're gonna need more info.

I have 2 new chamers in and still leaks air out the exhaust port
-
Just to clarify, did you change the entire brake can, or just the piggyback?
-
