Hi I have 2016 Cascadia, isx 400, 10 spd, 339k miles. Air compressor has been acting up here and there. what happens is the compressor will turn on and purge in a 45 second cycle, even though the tanks arent low. it does this for a period of time. maybe hours? and and it stops. it will then sit at about 128 psi like before only turning on and purging every 20 to 30 minutes(I do have a small leak that needs to be addressed). last week the blue airline broke and I replaced it and also I got the engine cleaned at a beacon. idk if that's relevant but maybe that's a clue?? What do you think I should do

If you still have an air leak fix it, and check the condition of all the lines. That would get you a fail in an inspection. You have an air dryer? Make sure it’s working. Or pull into a good
shop and have them check out the system.
    Too important to ignore.

An air leak isn't considered to be a danger by the DOT unless your system is losing 4psi in 60 seconds while holding foot valve at 90 psi application or more. But yes I understand it needs to get fixed and it will when I go to the dealer tomorrow. I'm just trying to understand the seemingly bigger problem at hand before I step into the dealer. Theres a lot of videos online about changing these parts but not a lot of diagnostic material

Air drier been serviced recently? New purge valve/desiccant? Line from governor to air compressor been pressure tested for leaks?

AModelCat, Rideandrepair and Zigzag777 Thank this.

Well, how much did it cost to fix? Just curious.

It’s probably a dryer or govenor problem. Like push broom mentioned, the purge valve, it may be the whole problem. Its old enough, time to change filter and purge valve. Or if cheap enough, depending on which dryer you have, might be easier to just change the whole dryer. That’s what I do, AD9 dryers are cheap though. Don’t know about yours. Price it out.
