I used to be afraid to go to sleep, worried I’d oversleep. Used 2 screaming meanies wired to the cig lighter, because I’d sleep till the batteries died. They will damage your hearing. High pitch noise, made my ears ring all day, more than once. I wake up mostly on my Own anymore. Thank God. Much better to wake up naturally. Phone alarm set just in case. Short naps when tired are still tough. My wife’s with me, she’ll stay up and wake me. Rarely late anymore. I always thought a good Truckers alarm would include a siren and blue light. Optional electrical shocks on each big toe.

Screaming meanies are LOUD. Can’t believe that anyone could sleep through one. I use a phone alarm.

How people sleep through those is beyond me. They wake me up from 3 trucks away.

Phone alarm. Once I wake up, I send a text to my wife. She knows to wake up at a certain time, and look for the text. If I haven't sent it, she calls me. It's a good backup plan, because if I'm running high idle I have slept right through my alarm before. I'm buying a Screaming Meanie, I just haven't yet.

I find bed shakers work well. Makes the person jump up from their sleep. Goes under the pillow so it’s by our head.

    Wakes up the heaviest sleeper.

It did take several different models to buy and try to find the one I liked. Because I am a deaf trucker, I have to have the bed shaker.

I’ve bought pricey ones ($300 plus) and now have a cheap one ($35). The way they’re programmed to operate the shaker is what I’m looking for.

The current one in the pic from previous post is a good one and $35.

I set 3 different alarms on my phone a few minutes apart. Keep the phone out of hands reach so you actually have to get up and turn it off.

Sometimes I'm a light sleeper other times it would take a bomb going off to get me up.

Only time I set an alarm is if I need to roll at 3am
Otherwise I wake up naturally but in my case that sucks.

More for my wife when I’m home or we are on vacation but for some dumb reason I have always woken up at 5am no matter what time I go to bed

Once in awhile I’ll be a little later but that’s rare
Even if I do set the alarm, 90% of that time I’m up before it goes off
    Some sorta crazy I suppose

Just my phone but I just looked up that Screaming Meanie. If that doesn’t wake you nothing will.

i’ve killed brand new batteries in them more than a few times. I blame it on growing up with two sisters, but in reality it’s because i was running to hard & my body needed the rest.

Coffey, Lumper Humper and lester Thank this.
