I typically have my headphones in listening to audiobooks. Not full blast. But loud enough I do imagine where I would not have heard the horn. It was one of those weak horns. Barely audible over my very low volume music I had running through my radio using an iPod.

Bet you don't have any thing playing while going thru some major cities anymore will you? That's when you need to be the most attentive.

This has happened to me enough times in my early years that now it's become a habit to change lane slowly and listen for a horn. I always have my passenger side window cracked open a couple of inches.

You're absolutely right. I usually don't. i always pause my audiobook when I'm driving through a major city. BUT. It was pre dawn coming out of Atlanta on a Saturday morning. Very little traffic. So I did have in some music softly. Again, thank god I didn't have it up loud. I fear I would t have heard or even felt side swiping this car. Crazy.

I saw a car cut the bumper off a long nose peter in L.A. he didnt see the car, the car got turned sideways and eas being pushed, when he started hopping as we were going less the 10 mph, he looks over with a "what the hell is going on?" Look, im frantically pointing at his nose, he stops sees what happened and is freaking out. Last i saw of him as i was exiting.....

When they don't have lights on, it's impossible to see them when it's still dark.

I hate the silver cars in the hazy grey days with rain... and no friggin lights. Buggers disappear 20 feet in front of you..
