I wasn't paying attention to the fact he stated he did an on duty post trip, but he wasn't driving. wonder companies have a hard time understanding the law.

if a driver wants to drive past the 8 hour mark after starting their 14 hour clock, they must show a 30 minute rest break.

if they will not be driving after the 8 hour mark without having shown a 30 minute break there would be no violation regardless of duty status (barring driving status).

My understanding as well.

One can WORK as long as he/she likes, but cannot drive after the 8th hour without having had the 30 minutes off duy.

Qualcomm begs to differ. 8 hours after coming on duty I better take 30 off. Driving or sitting in the truck while loading/unloading. No matter what.
