When idling with the cruise on and set, does the engine respond to the throttle?
If you could include the year, make, model and engine in your truck in your answer, that'd be awesome.
Im working on a project and this info will be very helpful. (and has the potential of benefitting you.
Also, can a mod/admin PM me?

Mine doesn't. It's a 2011 Volvo VNL780 with a non DEF Cummins ISX 450 ST

2012 Cascadia (Automatic) with DD15
The Truck will Idle all day, but it doesn't allow me to set cruise. -
2009 kw w900L, cat motor, it will set cruise at idle to whatever rpm you want. If you push on the fuel it will increase fuel and when you let off it will continue at whatever rpm cruise is set to. Hit brake or clutch and it cancels cruise as normal.

Some trucks use the cruise control as a limited speed control mechanism...hit it up, and it idles up, down and it idles down. Staying minimum at the idle rpm.
I think that's how the 2000 KW 900 worked and a 2009 Freightliner. -
ditto 95' ddec 3

05 w9 isx 450. i could set the idle with cruise. i could also change the idle without cruise. per computer. if the cruise was off. i could adjust my constant idle. sorta like adjusting a carburetor. with the cruise on. i could change the rpms. flipped the switch off and idle came back.
however. i could not give it gas if i had the cruise on for idle. release the brake and attempt to drive was a no go till the cruise was deactivated. i've found myself pushing the gas pedal with no acceleration quite a few times. LOL.
