I don't know why I thought you were going to tell me something that nobody already knew. Yes I have logged out, but thats because I ran out of hrs at a shipper and I couldn't stay there. The truck stop wasn't even five minutes away. They won't notice that. If you drive to Tulsa from Oklahoma City logged out......100 miles? Thats crazy. Youre asking for trouble.

I run legal (mostly
)
I'm still not working that work. -
For goliath grouper? Considering every one around here uses 250 lb steel leaders on 50 lb line, i don't think a little zebco with 10 lb test is gonna work.
For redfish and snook I've been using 16 lb flouocarbon with 25 lb leaders out on the flats.
I've come across guys in the process of reeling them in and that is a good comparison. It's a very cool sight to see a fish as long as i am jump fifty feet across the water. Can only imagine how fun it is when the rod is in your hand.Last edited: Apr 15, 2018

Yeah, I was kidding, but I do need a favor. Mind catching me about 25 lbs of Chilean Seabass and filleting it up? I can FedEx you a cooler with dry ice. It goes for $17 a filet around here, so that would be the cat’s pajamas.IluvCATS Thanks this.

That might be a tough order to fill unless he happens to live near Antarctica and owns a net trawler.
spyder7723 and shogun Thank this. -
No problem, I can mail the cooler and ice anywhere.ChaoSS and SteveScott Thank this.

If they didn't tell you about "the nationwide blitz" you'd hardley ever notice it. There MIGHT be portable scales & a govt RV at a rest area. It's just another thing the panic industry wants you to panic over.IluvCATS Thanks this.

Not only that, but last I remember not all the states do it at the same time.

Can't help ya on that but if sea trout is your deal we hit the bag limit in less than 30 minutes yesterday. I thought it was too late in the year for them here but they were thick as molasses in tippycanoe bay. I could see snook rolling but the trout ate up all my shrimp(ten freaking pounds worth!) and they wasn't interested in my rattletraps it twitch sucks. Still was a great time tho. In two hours we we caught over 40 trout and 6 small redfish. Probably the most fun afternoon we've had on the water. Especially for the little one. She spent the rest of the day busting my butt to get to work so we can go get a bigger boat and start going off shore to the reefs.
The conversation went kinda like this "daddy we need a bigger boat". "Short one, a bigger boat is gonna cost 10k dollars" "ok, well if you work just one more day each month we will have the money by next spring. That still gives you more than 150 days a year off." I'm not sure if i should be proud of her thought process of how to save money up or if i should be fearful of it. If at 10 she can plan out how to save 10 grand for a bigger boat, by 16 she will be trying to convince me to get her a Porsche. "It's just one extra day a month for 5 years".
Edit to add: can't believe i forgot this. On the way back up the river to the boat ramp a couple dolphins decided to come play. That was really really cool.Last edited: Apr 15, 2018

By "running paper log" I assume you are doing the same thing I am doing, writing down location, miles from location to location, and other trip information. I have a tablet where each trip is "logged" in this way. This isn't done on actual DOT paper logs, it's just a yellow note pad. If my AOBRD unit screws up and fails to detect drive time, for example, I am able to go back and manually enter drive time and miles.Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this.
