99 ch all mack. T2180 mated to 44k rears 4.42 on tall rubber. 242wb.
Took off the tag axle and wet kit. She needs a few minor things but overall she's in very good condition. Lived its life in Texas not a bit of rust.
That 460 isn't supposed to roal coal but she does, big time. I think it has a ecu tune or injectors or both. I thought the 93 with some fuel put to her smoked but boy oh boy this one reminds me of a old endt675 -
Now here's the bad news. The 93 is sick, getting a full inframe. Liner cavitation, we got it with 900k on the clock my dad asked for 100k more and got it lol. We got one of the heads off so far ill get some pics.
Going with 15.3 compression pistons instead of current 16.5. Stage 2 injectors from antrim, getting rid of the s300 series turbo and going with a 400 series not sure which one yet and my dad knows an old head who can set up them inline pumps real good.
20-30k to do a new epa boat anchor, 6-7k is all it costs and a few cases of beer and bandaids lolrank Thanks this. -
Just don't do like I did and put off that inframe until it's convenient. I had it scheduled to go in for it...3 weeks out, it decided it didn't want to wait. One of the pistons wedged itself sideways in the block, grenaded the sleeve, of which pieces departed through the oil pan.
Sad thing was, I was working on passing someone when it let go...knocked it out of gear and coasted a mile into a rest area to work out the details of getting it back to Mack. Luckily it waited until that day...when I was close enough to home that it was only a $146 tow back to Mack. The day before? I'd just come from playing on the 2-lanes in/around/through Mountain View, AR...and THAT would've been an expensive tow home, not to mention no place to safely sit and wait for the hook.
Anyway, $25K later, I had a brand new ReMack under the hood...would've been $7-8K if it had waited for the overhaul.rank, Brettj3876 and RStewart Thank this. -

The 93 went down at a bad time right before we got the other one home. But by Monday the red one will be rolling and my dad will be turning wrenches.
He got it home before anything bad happened. Started smoking a ton when you start it back up after being up to operating temp. Got the front head off already and #2 has the smallest hairline crack about 2 inches down and what looks like cavitation. It was using 2 gal of oil every 15k but that's not terrible for a million mile motor. 1&3 still have visible cross-hatching.
Head didn't look cracked but could be internal, head gasket didn't look compromisedrank Thanks this. -
He's gonna do it right and do a complete inframe as long a crank is still straight. Didn't drop the pan yet
rank Thanks this. -
Even better 1998 build date good ole loose leafs baby.
@Pedigreed Bulldog you have 4.17s right on 11 24.5. What rpm are you at 65? This needs a new speedo but we have 4.42 and tall rubber. Does 1750 @65 sound right? Mack also replaced the engine or long block at least. Valve cover says 427 but mack says it was changed to a 460. Gotta take it to dealer and have em plug it in and see.
Pai owns the right to some mack stuff, anyone know how it actually compares to oem mack. Mack is like 4500 for inframe kit and pai is like 2400.
The 93 was a 350 with 16.5 compression. My dad was the lower 15.3 that's on the 427 and 454 but every place wants a vin or engine #. The only thing different in the whole kit is the piston # every other part # is the same. Anyone know a place that doesnt make you jump thru hoops to get what piston kit you want. -
If that truck had a bigger sleeper it may have been sitting in my yard. You’ll have to keep us updated on it’s new life.
Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
26.5 a steal if you ask me. I cannot believe how little rust is on this truck. I swear it never left the south. Pretty sure she pulled a rgn and dump bc of the wet kit and tarp switch in the cab. Haha its a napper not a sleeper lol but yea I wish it had a midroof like the 93. Before winter were gonna paint it same scheme as the 93. Not looking forward to all that prep work. Got a good mentor tho, everyone tells my dad what you Doing driving these you should have your own shop.rank Thanks this.
