Attracting quality drivers is too easy for motor carriers to comprehend.they go strictly by their policies and nothing more.if you haven't attended a school with so many hrs you're out even if you're an impeccable driver.these companies wanna keep hiring newbies fresh from school and leave the veterans out deserve everything bad because they continuously let it happen.right now someone somewhere is waiting to be towed out of a bind they got themselves into.

I would bet she doesnt know what 20 tons is or that her truck + load is close to 40 tons. I would of been worried that that old concrete bridge wouldnt hold the weight, not so much about getting hung up. Definitely a steering wheel holder.

It could totally vary by how Iong I took to do it..If I was in fast mode, trying to hook everyone up in the shortest amount of time, It would be a 800 dollar winch out...But some evil folk might send too big of truck, make a big ol deal out of it, with a 1k minimum, just to hook up and drag it...2500 if we got to tow it a few miles...tow places rake the megas

I remember the reality show "wrecked"...they'd send 4 trucks to do a one truck job!! It was silly showboating....They write alot of 8 to 10k tow bills!!!

Not one time did i ever have the thought to buy a tow rig!! LOL the work stinks!!

I have thought of a AAA like tow company for big rigs..I think it would be a big seller if done right

Lots of tow places continue the slaughter by doing the mechanical work as well, or be in bed with the folks who are, THATS where the real rape happens

    I hated the buisness!! lol

That's Obviously a sign that was not taken under advisement...the problem isn't the GPS, its the driver that trusted it and failed to check for restrictions by doing a pre-trip route to the destination.

Alberta Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) issued a ticket Jan. 15 in the amount of $25,511.*

“The ticket is in fact very real and was issued for exceeding the 10,000-kg bridge restriction placed on the Highway 22 bridge over the Oldman River,” said Russ Fikowski, and inspector with the CVE southern region. “The bridge is damaged and Alberta Transportation has placed the restriction to limit heavy vehicles from using the bridge.”

This restriction is WELL signed long before trucks get anywhere near the bridge. There is no excuse.

*The fine was recalculated and reduced to $20,000.

The most important rule for Truckers is to read the road signs and obey them.... we can't blame others for our mistake!

Regardless of what directions someone or an on-board Nav suggest, computers are not 100 percent accurate devices.

When a driver finds a road that is restricted in route using a GPS , they should send feedback to the people who update routes as part of a actively informed network.
