Yes they did. If I could afford to pay $240k for a Peterbuilt glider, I would have hit the lottery and would be retired

When did that start, there's 2020 Pete gliders on Truckpaper, a few KWs but not nearly as many as Petes.
-
Shortly after the rules changed to where you have to do a bunch of paperwork stating who is finishing the glider for you and then they need to get a unique builder number for each one they’re finishing. Then you can order the glider. Then once it’s done there’s more paperwork that Paccar has to file. So I’m guessing they figured it wasn’t worth the headache anymore. That’s why prices on them are so dumb right now.
-
Didn't know they made it that much of a headache, I thought they were just putting more of a limit on how many they could build. Not really related question, what do you think the chances are of Cat putting EPA engines in trucks again since off road is the same or nearly requirements?
-
I think truck manufacturers would have to offer Cat some really strong financial incentives for Cat to start againfarmerjohn64 Thanks this.

I don’t see it ever happening....

CAT can't make emissions work.

Well I was, maybe still am, going to pull the trigger on the Volvo special.
But it ends the last day of June, and I won't make it up there until like the 8th lol.
Maybe not meant to be lol.
farmerjohn64, Cat sdp and 650cat425 Thank this. -
That's not really what I wanted to hear at all, that's about the only way I would buy a new truck, unless that X15 turns out to be a good one.
