I'm an oilfield sand hauler. Rates are not the best, but we have stayed pretty busy. I've been a company driver at this company for 3 years. Gonna lease on and keep on truckin.

As long as I can keep my truck rolling I will be profitable. From Sept 8th to Dec 20th,.. I went from roughly $4300 cash to $39,812 into my bank accounts. Thats cash. That is after all bills and debts paid. Why would I quit now?

Took a few weeks off for the holidays. Coming back out Jan 4th to run just as hard and I plan to double the money by April/May. Then I am going take another break to re-evaluate my long term goals and my wife and I will discuss some plans to reach those goals. Add more trucks and drivers,.. or replace my current truck and stay solo.

    Quit,.. no not right now.

Stay solo, trust me, you will make more money. Sometimes I regret buying more toys and letting drivers tear them up.

The way I am thinking right now,. if I can bank this much now with low rates and difficult freight lanes,.. imagine how much better things will be when the market comes back full tilt. 1 - 2 yrs? Maybe 3 yrs from now?

In my area here there is construction everywhere. Roads, interstate, housing developments, big malls, plazas going up left and right. 2 new Walmarts and 3 new large grocery stores. Wiregrass mall just opened up, a new outlet mall opened up. Publix and Walmarts usually do a lot of projected analysis before moving into an area. So they must be confident about something. I'm seeing more construction right now locally than before when I was doing really well in construction. So in my opinion there is a lot of potential to look forward to.

    I cant quit now.

You didn't get the email? The worlds coming to an end!

It gets like this at times, things get a little tough and the future starts to look dim and some want to throw in the towel. Good riddance! I wish they would all hurry up and quit, less trucks = more money for the rest of us!
