I will be starting training at Schneider the 10Th and they told me I will have to buy a lock for the truck. Does anyone here know what model lock they require and the cost of such? . I am asking as I want to try to find this lock for sale elsewhere and maybe I can save a buck or two. THANKS

Lock for the trailer door or 5th wheel?

both can be found at a local TS... but if for a trailer... get a heavy duty MasterLock.... and do not go to Barrie, ON in the winter then... had to cut mine off... was frozen..

I really don't know what kind of lock they require. I was hopeing a Schneider driver here on the forum might know.

Probably for the trailer doors. That's almost a standard. Just be prepared to have to cut it off in the winter because snow, ice and water will get inside the lock and freeze it up solid.

Schneider will supply you with a lock. It's really not anything special. It's rather HD, it comes in a box full of stuff when you get to your home OC. It'll cost you $10, but you won't find one near as good for that price.

The other lock you'll get is a king pin lock. $40 and worth every cent. I've never seen one at a TS that was as good. If those are heavy-duty, these must be monster duty, and about the same price as the garbage at Pilot:biggrin_25525:

Both are yours to keep if you leave, or turn them in, and you'll get your money back:biggrin_25525:
