    Oh ok sponsorship sounds ALOT better than ads! They are VERY annoying for users. Quite a few apps I have gotten rid of just because the ads annoyed me lol.

    Coonass, there are ways to counter adfree and any worried developer will take them. It also fills your hostsfile with a wide range of hostnames potentially blocking wanted stuff. Large hostfiles slowdown the resolve time, aka slower internet access.

    The risk of hijacking is great with modified hostfiles as well. It would take 1 line, and your bank's domain would be pointed elsewhere.

    Better to choose an alternative (ad free) app, or pay for an ad free version.

    Also consider the fact that ad clicks get 1-2cents per click on non targetted ads (which are most). Hard way to earn a living.

    Just my 2 cents on that subject.
