That whole area is like a giant work camp. Garbage and the smell of piss everywhere.WildTiger1990, Cottonmouth85, truckthatpassesyouby and 2 others Thank this.

True. That’s the cost of a localized “oil boom”. But the city doesn’t seem to have a problem with the tax revenue boom. Odd
All that cheap land out there, you think somebody could put that to good use and create monthly paid parking lots for the local truckers that include a small “apartment” at each site. -
Doubtful the city or local county would approve the parking area. Seen it before up in ND. And the tax revenue is rarely seen by the local government. I knew the mayor of Alexander ND, she was a sharp cookie and was a regular visitor to Governor Dalrymple's office asking for funding as the town was not able to keep up with all of the issues that thousands of trucks bring with them. The money was just not there. The Governor came through with a few million, and many improvements were put in place for the betterment of the community.bzinger, truckthatpassesyouby and speedyk Thank this.

Somebody got a clue and re opened that truck stop that always advertised steak. They have about 30 5th wheels living in the lot, and its also a regular truck stop again.
-
Something has to be done. The truck stops can’t accommodate them all, especially largely “for free”. The cross country drivers can’t even find a space to do a 30 minute break for all the squatters in them 24/7 doing 10s and 34s, making the truck stop their “home”.
truckthatpassesyouby and austinmike Thank this. -
Just across the county line.

They created that cluster#### though.Dave_in_AZ and ACO476 Thank this.

Unfortunately you're not exaggerating. This, and these fly-by-night shady *** companies in this area will hire anybody with a pulse, and it shows. The level of stupidity shown by drivers in this area is on a level that I can neither explain nor comprehend. I get in and out of that ****hole as quickly and safely as possible, which is oftentimes easier said than done.Anonymousproxy, drvrtech77, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this.

Fracking technology is probably responsible for at least half of all the truck traffic there today.
