Back round chack with Stevens

I was going to say I never had to pay when I attended school.But the way our economy is and ppl doing everything to make a buck,nothing surprises me.

 

According to this link http://www.truckingtruth.com/free_truck_driving_schools/stevens/stevens2.html if a driver leaves before finishing the entire balance is due.

 

the 100 dollars they are charging is so you can get the hazmat endorsement..it cost 98 ..

 

No it is not... endorsements are on your own. I this either a school registration or the Physical.

Hazmat background checks vary in cost from State to State, but this is definatley not for that.

 

Only with Lisa Kelly would I gladly pay $100... to give her a Back Round Chack!!

 

Well , technically it only says about paying after the CDL is obtained. It says nothing about if the student fails to get a CDL.

 

A background check or MVR takes about 5 minutes to run a Social thru an online database and cost a company a flat subscription price per year/month. These companies waiting to do checks until a driver is in orientation or in school are doing it so they can bill you for the school or orientation. A person can do a background check for less than $30 one time fee.

 

That is of you leave their employment. You can not be employed until you have the CDL.

The contract is not even signed until the course is half over... might have even been the third week, I don't remember.

Look, you guys can believe what you want, I am not here to recruit anybody, just trying to clear up a misconception. I went through training with Stevens and I still drive for them, so I can only relate what I have experienced and I do know for a fact students sent home for failed drug tests, failed background or employment checks, or in couple of cases, just couldn't drive did not owe Stevens any money.

 

Usually the "back round" comes after you are a driver and have been eating at the buffets for a few months!

It includes a "front round".

The 100 bucks is for the physical, registration, drug test, lodging and something else.....can't remember...... The MVR was already done prior to them offering a spot to you in the academy. The Background check will be done while you are at the Academy this will include medical background if necessary and criminal.....they will also call previous employers...not everyon'es check comes back right away, saw someone who graduated the week before me get through orientation and out on the road with a trainer when he got pulled out of his truck, bussed back to Dallas and sent home because he had some unpaid tickets back in his little tiny hometown somewhere in the midwest.....He was sitting around with us having a smoke when he got back when someone came down and told him....just be honest with them because they will find out everything.
