I am going to give a little advice to drivers getting into parking spots at a truck stop and that is.....quit pulling into a spot!! This is ridiculous, you back in and you are lined up with the rest of the row, when you pull in you end up having 10-12 feet of your trailer hanging out into the row!! I know we have gone from a generation of courteous drivers to the new breed of not giving a rats ### about your fellow driver, but come on driver this is just ignorant, people cant hardly pull out beside you and make the turn and drivers coming down the row have to try to miss your trailer hanging out, okay so screw your fellow driver but what about your common sense...oh right the new breed doesn't have any. Okay, flame away.

I totally agree with you. I was talking with a guy the other day as to why he did that very thing. He told me that he didn't have much experience backing up so he just pulls it in. I looked him square in the eye and said "Little Experience? You don't back out of the spot every morning?" I agree it is just totally lazy to pull in and not back in.

I hate when people do this.Take a few extra seconds and back in.

Ok well here where I upset a few. I normally do back in, but if I am going to be at a spot a while Yes I may pull in but it will be near the end where it will not interfere with other pulling out. Why? Lazy? No, privacy? Yes. Do I pull into the middle of the line? No cause it more dangerous to back back out when it time to leave.
I like to look out my windows and not at the slob next to me. Nor would I want headlight shining in my windows also. But as I said only when I going to be there for a while as in 34 hr restart or was having a case of gout and was not able to drive at the time. But if there was a pull through I rather pull through than Back in. Safety.dannythetrucker, Everett and pattyj Thank this. -
I only pull in when it is a straight shot in - so nothing behind me for a straight back out.
But I agree with you in principle.
I've seen drivers pull in to a spot with no hope of getting out if there is a truck on either side, unless the spot right behind them is empty. -
Yeah it's just stupid. How else are you supposed to learn if you're too lazy or embarrassed to try? Gotta start somewhere. It's much safer to back in and pull out. Backing out between two trucks without seeing what's coming is plain stupidity and discourteous to other drivers who are driving by your rear end sticking out.

Never pulled doubles OP? Backing in isn't the easiest/ greatest joy when have to go #2 really bad
ETA: dang near impossible. enjoy my over hang driver
I'll be out in 10 minutes
can i start a fllame thread making the double drivers stuck and breaking them down to escape the truck stop ?
all joking aside, common sense goes a long way. 100% agree OP -
There's a lot of reasons people nose in, laziness is just one of them.
I get what you're saying but not everyone is pulling a 53' box with sliding tandems.MackDaddyMark Thanks this. -
I'll be more than happy to back in when it's a beautiful night to leave the windows open and get some air when you I don't use nearly enough fuel so I will idle all night drivers give it a rest. And while your at it get your air dryer fixed!
Park in a lot next to a truck stop 2 nights ago. Lot would hold at least 20 trucks and I'm the only one there. Put window screens in and went to sleep woke up an hr later, it's 56 degrees and some moron parks right next to me and idles. And of course his air dryer is going off every 15 minutes. He could have parked on the other side or parked nose. Could clearly see I had the window screens in. When I got up in the morning we were still the only two trucks there.
Drivers want a little courtesy but it clearly seems lacking in this industry.Raiderfanatic Thanks this.
