Umm, its not too start $#!T. its just a comment. If you guys cant take the truth why whine about it? This is why there are so many trucks repoed, so many failures, so many nitwits doing lease purchase and never being able to get ahead or a day off. Its funny how these guys think that these companies dont do credit checks because they just feel sorry for you knowing your credit isnt worth a $#!T but they just want you to succeed and they will go out of their way to put you in a truck with no credit and not knowing anything about business or running a truck. Ummm, NOT, they want you to fail so they own your ### until you work your butt off to pay them for working for them, YEP, PAY THEM for working for them. OK, Im done explaining why I posted. All you newbies remember this, these companies arent here to help you........

Those days died in the 60's era.

The whole thing should be one and same. Alternator knows what it needs to do to push power out.

A school circle for you young uns. In those days of the 60's or so many cars had a alternator that went through a regulator then to the battery and out to the vehicle. If the regulator burnt up, whatever you got from the alternator was big spikes that kill everything. Battery first. Next thing you see is dimming headlights, no power through your coil trying to get going and so on.

You could tell when a car had a bad voltage regulator, he will be trying to crank start with the key and it's just sad, whip whip whip whipp in a slowing and spacing out intervals and dying. In my experience that means the battery got spiked before the alt burnt.

The problem with today's trucks that did not exist back then is computers. They have to have 10 volts to stay alive. Anything less, they brick and become monstrous paperweights.
