I can see where it would be legal to ship direct from supplier and keeping their name out of it should be legal, but I doubt if you are selling as made in USA and selling china made anything, then there is laws against that.

Nothing unethical about blind loads. From reading previous posts it’s pretty clear most haven’t a clue as to why they exist or what their purpose is.

Why I told about furniture? I did delivery. I witnessed repacking and relabeling.

If repacking and relabeling it to sell it as made in USA, it would be illegal, It may not be so much as not as enforced as much as they have not been caught. I don't however think the trucking company hauling it would be breaking any laws.
I used to haul lots of peanuts from the Portales area. These were valencia eating peanuts, you sure didn't have to boil them to eat them. They were developed in portales and they marketed them for years, before other places decided to get in on the big bucks, Texas and Oklohama started growing them, but then could not sell them, I hauled a lot of packaged peanuts from these places when they went under back to goober gulch and they would rebag them (same product) and then had no trouble selling them.
I talked to a lawyer once that was overseeing emptying out a warehouse that I was moving, and he told me that it has become common practice to get in business deals that you knew was going to land you in prison from one to four years, but considered worth it to many if they could hide away a couple million before they were caught.Adieu, Rideandrepair and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Yes sir I used to pick up pecans in Florida then deliver to Ga. to be repackaged and sold as Georgia pecans. Being from Ga living in Florida I used to get a real laugh out of that.

My wife and I ran team years ago and we pulled a lot for DHL thing between Allentown, PA and SLC, UT. One of the loads actually went to a customer in SLC and not to a terminal and we were told not to let the customer know that we drive it across country because they thought it was being flown in. Lol. Wonder what their freight charge was.

Kinda short on time, but this will give the basic idea.
The easiest way is by example. Think of 3 companies and an imaginary product, screws for instance. Company A is a manufacturer of screws. Company B is a reseller of Company A’s screws. Company C is the end user of the screws.
Company C places a large order of screws from company B. Company B doesn’t stock enough screws to fill the order so company B has company A fill the order in the blind. Company A fills the order using either generic packaging or any packaging satisfactory to company B, but no packaging which identifies company A. Shipping documents do not identify company A, but may identify company B.
The intent is to not have an end user jump the jobber/reseller and go straight to the source. One may think this is unfair to the end user, but generally it’s not and they actually may be doing him a favor.
Many times the middle man (Company B) buys many times what an end user (Company C) would buy and gets such a large discount that he (Company B) can purchase the items, mark them up and resell them for less than the manufacturer (Company A) would sell the product to an end user for. In essence the manufacturer (Company A) is using many Middle men (Company Bs) as their sales force. The manufacturer doesn’t want this arrangement screwed with because of many many end users placing multiple small orders when they already have a system in place to handle the problem. The reseller/middleman (Company B) doesn’t want this system screwed with because it’s his bread and butter. The end user (Company C) may believe he wants to jump this system, but generally it’s not in Company Cs best financial interest to do so.
Earlier someone mentioned that it is an internet thing. Although their are many instances of blind sales and shipments over the internet, blind shipments are not a product of the internet. Blind shipments have been going on every since there have been transportation services, long before computers, internet, and even before typewriters. -
