Jessica just offered me this load to Jacksonville FL from Cincinnati OH (50 Deadhead miles) loaded miles with full load of paper 822 miles. Total miles 872 multiplyied by Florida rate (approx $2.82/mile ) =$2441
The contract rate for this lane is $2.36/mile meaning every week deal or every day job offer, which equals =2057. Remember its a full load more fuel cost also.
She said the shipper closes at 2:00PM I told her that I am fifty miles away and can try to make it there, but she has no regards whatsoever and stll offers the load at way below the market at $1750. I asked her can you do a bit better, she says" I get them covered for $1750" ends conversation.
My question is who is doing loads for these people and why??? please post here who does this load for them and are they able to cut their costs of operation by way cheaper fuel what we don't know about?
