So, I had a break chamber blow.... I didn't think they did.... I had one truck prior to owning my current truck and never had a break problem.... I know that they are all cheap chinese garbage parts (frieghtliner cascadia 2016).. I was thinking of replacing all 6 with Bendix or betterquality chambers so I don't have to worry about it ever again or for at least 300-500k miles.

    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks.

If it's the rubber divider inside the chamber that got a hole in it then the quality of your service air is contaminated. The symptom is rapid loss of primary followed by secondary at the same time as you apply service braking.

Buying parts is nice but not when you think it will be the end all of forever no problems. Ive been wrestling with less than reliable batteries each winter even though the vehicle in it has zero drain anywhere. (Found the hood light the other day...) I will be replacing the battery etc in March. And that should be good for a few years.

I just don't want this to happen again .. if I get quality parts. And replace them every 300-500k miles. I've been told they are called pancakes. I've been told the break chambers on the steers don't get used nearly as much. But I think I have all original parts on breaks minus that one that got replaced.

Take a fresh look at your air dryer and also drain your air tanks manually to see if you have excessive gunk in them.

At most, I'd just change the pair on that axle and send it.

Its ok, Im new too. lol. ANyway the air dryer is somewhere near your catwalk tied into your air brake system. It cleans air and when it does it farts every so often. If it got to where it is constantly passing then it needs a look see.

If you do NOT have ANY air dryer at all, then I will bet the farm that your wet and dry tanks got gallons of sludge in them. Thats why I lost my pancake when I did, failure to drain those tanks every night without a airdryer truck. No one taught me about that. (They sure did after...)

It's just a piece of rubber. sometimes they're gonna blow. You don't even need to replace the brake can. You can just take it apart and put in a new pancake pretty easy. I've done it twice.

Ok it farts every so often when it gets full. It doesn't do it all the time just once in a while. Seems normal.
