I've heard nothing about a brake week, just driver's appreciation week, and a bbq at the terminal that I won't be going to.

I'm running, but only hours that the DOT is not working and roads that they can't pull trucks over.
JPenn and HopeOverMope Thank this. -
I sat out during the June Blitz. This one I am marching on. Just got pulled in Odessa Mo and a trooper did a 10min level 3. Didn't receive anything from the trooper. My papper work is clean.
-
Gotta love that -- don't even get a positive inspection on your record...
-
Yea I know. There is nothing good that comes from an inspection. Nothing!
-
That sucks. Was the first time for everything I guess. The trooper was trying to talk me up. Asking about Marijuana legalization since I live in California.
-
I just had an inspection in PA last week that was squeaky clean, so I get a $50 bonus for sitting half an hour and getting caught up on paperwork. Also had time to make a sammich. So, I got $50 and a good sammich.

I never sit out any "blitz" DOT can find something on a brand new truck if they want. I keep good tires and just had all brakes, drums and slack adjusters done last month. Keep your truck clean and #### off your dash and if i get pulled in i hand him my folder that has ever paper labeled that he needs. Beyond that and having a good attitude toward him thats all i can do. I refuse to give up $2-$3k for a week that i "might" get pulled in and fined. Just my 2cent. but i do get why ppl take it off.
HopeOverMope Thanks this. -
You could just inspect your equipment and make sure it would pass DOT inspection. Having a clean truck and being respectful also goes a long way to avoiding the inspection in the first place.

Hey friend, I've heard of some of the mega companies doing that, giving a bonus for a clean inspection.
Just wondering, if you're with a company and you get pulled in for an inspection and...
They find turn signal doesn't work, brakes out of adjustment, airleak somewhere and you get a ticket, or maybe shutdown. How does your company treat you for that? Are they like, it's the drivers fault because he should have known and didn't bother to fix it, or its ok if that truck doesn't deliver today, we need to call road service?
I could see how some company drivers could be in big trouble with there job for simply somethings that could be overlooked.
