broker charging extra processing fees.

    I've been seriously considering adding them to my website. How do they know they're there though? Would a Broker even bother to go read them if it's something they're not signing for anyway? I doubt it.

    There's no requirement for you to publish your tariffs. That requirement was eliminated years ago. You can keep it in your desk drawer and it will still be valid.

    Publishing your tariffs will help your cause, but it's not required.

    If there's an actual invoice for the $1 you could claim this also as a tax deductible.

    That was interesting read. I don't know if I have the time to file claims on everybody I deal with to get paid though. If I invoice something not agreed to on a rate con then they aren't going to pay it. This will force me to pursue by legal means. Also, in every Carrier/Broker Agreement I've ever signed I already agreed to put it all on the rate con. I'm certain that would be mentioned in court. The whole thing just seems rigged for the Brokers and not the Carrier.

    Only if you don't amend the rate confirmation before being loaded. Most of the rate confirmations now say that if you don't return it signed, it becomes binding after a certain amount of time. So, return it amended but unsigned. If they don't return it signed, then it's binding by their own contract.

    Ill pay attention where they (ratecons) say that, because I never saw it and you said it is most of them. Even if some do then so what? It is obvious that If I don't sign something, I can deny to have agreed to anything.
    I don't know for sure but amending Rate Confirmations should require both parties sign and acknowledge the amendments, otherwise everyone could stamp $1000 / hour detention on a rate con, e-mail it back to broker and even if they don't sign it (or initial it) and return it back to a carrier, they could demand money. Most likely any broker would laugh at it.

    I got a NY ezpass bc the NJ one would read the whole thruway Harriman to Buffalo at least once a month for years.

    Yesterday I called for the first time on my NY ezpass for the same thing :(

    If you have a system to flip your lic plate; or your plate is too filthy to be read by the cameras: you’ll be arrested for stealing from the state. If their high tech system doesn’t read the transponder they provide for you, they bill you and if you don’t catch it they keep it. “Not stealing” when the state does it. I like that they take a picture of my plate and occasionally mail me a “pay by mail” stating I need to get ezpass... with a picture of my plate in the bill.... clearly visible in the picture is the plate mounted ezpass transponder.

    Mine is ezpass+ with weigh station bypass also. It is through Ny ezpass.
    Do they actually refund you when you catch them? How long does that take? I've pretty well written it off and will just avoid that short stretch of i90.

    Edit. I meant to say I use prepass+

    My experience was 60 to 90 days and at least three follow up calls. With multiple trucks the overcharges were too high to ignore. Pain in the arse, and not suposed to happen when your license plate is recorded properly.

    We also had issues with the ez-pass reading then getting a toll violation notice for the same truck with a 3 second time stamp difference. Would have to show ez-pass records to have that cleared up.

    Depending on how old the mistales are it may be impossible to contest. You need to ask them to look at the entry and exit stations at what time you went thru, having access to gps tracking data helps narrow it down. They will look for images of your truck. Also, sending them other proof of where you were such as gps trails, fuel reciepts and bill of lading can sometimes help, but many times they would simply ignore it.
