Orlando, that is about a 35 page answer. Make sure you know whom your dealing with. Some brokers can talk you into about anything. I am NOT a Lawyer, I request 33% up front. Most brokers expect that. Permits, other things are Your problem. Newby's get into trouble. Broker finds the load. O/O makes final details with the shipper. You can get bit real hard. I wish you well.

You can look into a factoring company. They pay you for your bills and then the broker pays the factor. The fee is usually 2-5% of what the bills are paying. Usually get your money in 24-48 hours after receiving your bills.

Most brokers now a day offer quick pay option. Those who do not can be tricked into doing so by sending them an invoice and writing 2% of total of paid within 7 days which is essentially taking $$ out of your pocket just like quick pay

    Be careful with those brokers.

If you can't afford to wait it out and you choose the QP method, the broker will hit you with a penalty; sometimes 5% off the total you agreed on to receive it quickly.

Have you tried going to a freight broker school? Its about $3500.00 Very expensive and a waste of money for a company driver.

BUT!!!!!! For an O/O who is starting his own trucking show you cannot afford to get in this business and not know what the brokers are looking at to price out with the Shippers and then price out a deal with YOU.

Like I said, if your a company driver its a waste of money. But you on the other hand need the education from one of those broker courses. They will also teach you how to get your on Shippers and skip the brokers and get your own deals.

    Good luck :Sailing ship:
