Yeah I understand where you’re coming from and that’s why I said the Detroit supposedly has a 600hp tune without a Dyno it’s anyone’s guess. Chances are the truck will not see 250k in the next 10 years as it’s my truck and I usually only pull when my guys get behind now. My thoughts are I’d like to have one with that kind of go and doesn’t look like the upfront cost would me much more that a stock platinum rebuild.

Horsepower is hard on everything. The low side of in spec won’t do. The difference in an engine that last a 100k miles and 300 or maybe 4 is a solid foundation. Top to bottom. Many think a block won’t wear or only wears the counterbore. Well for the top to move enough to wear and need cut…..the bottom has to move too. Get your top flat and at .0055 to .006 and not touch the bottom you just cracked a liner flange due to the bottom still trying to rock. There is more to it than getting someone to give you a parts list and a tube.

Don’t think I’m talking you out of it, I’m pro horsepower. I understand that want to have that go feeling. I’m just trying to give you advice on a lesson or two I learned the hard way’s
