Those old astro's were not so bad. Ran produce in one coast to coast in the late 70's. 318 & 4X4. 58mph@2300. Just had to make sure there was no traffic when scratching your nut's, those big windshields let everyone see inside.

    You are absolutely right.

Mea Culpa. Kids pay attention a sec when a old one forgets how annoying those things are over a very long period of time.

(BTW, not bad shifting there for him. But I tell you whew....)

I think the Astro, and it's cousin the Chevy Titan 90, were probably the nicest non Pete/KW cabovers. They had a neat dash, and was the truck of choice for Mayflower bedbugs, for some reason. UPS used daycab Astros for years. Another nice cabover, ( I know, as if) was the Diamond Reo. It was on par with Petes or KWs. UPS also used those for awhile, before the Astros, and it was reported, the drivers refused to give the DRs up.

Oops, apparently, only 1 link per post. UPS Diamond Reo. Oh, as a side bar, it was the only truck where UPS kept the Diamond Reo badge. If you look at all other UPS trucks, they never have the truck name, or at least never did.

For example, notice on this pic, they kept the bulldog, but the words Mack and GMC are taken off. The reasoning there is, they don't advertise for the truck maker. Weird, hey?

Yeah, that was then, UPS was king, didn't need any kickbacks from KW.
