If she runs, I'd say just put her on truck paper and sell her. Or list here on movers fb web pages. Every day more and more movers are buying and restoring cabovers (especially kw's)
Yes you can and will make more money parting out. But sounds like you have enough on your ticket already. List her for $3-5000 more than you paid and make a quick profit.
Myself I'd love to buy a k100e double bunk cab over. Have a great winter project. First thing I'd do is send the motor and trans out to be rebuilt. The rest me, my boys, and friends, would do all winter long. Most older movers with 25-30 years exp. Take the winter off we love having winter projects. Otherwise the wife has plans to keep us busy with new kitchens, bathrooms, vacations etc...Rideandrepair, Tx Countryboy and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Another guy hit me up yesterday wanting the engine, and the locking and I have a pretty worthwhile use myself for the 18spd and the locking rears, so not sure what I am going to do yet.
If stretched it would make a neat old truck, but more of a nostalgic truck than anything else.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Ol skool at its best.

I drove cabovers off and on for several years, but even the old days I preffered a conventional, my old days at least, and as long as it did not have the crawl thru entry to the sleeper.
I never got to drive a flat floor cabover, I think I would have liked one.Rideandrepair, x1Heavy and kemosabi49 Thank this. -
I always wanted to drive a flat floor & feel same way as you.

JBH gave me one in Dec 2001 for three weeks as strictly a experiment. HR was adamant in paying me .47 and one Cabover. If I did not wait as long as I did I would have one of the new Conventionals and .48, come to find out they were trying to lure people into containers thats why I stayed away FROM THOSE particular Conventional low roofs spec'ed for that work.
I might still have my inspection somewhere in the safe that showed a bad power steering box under the cab in Kentucky near the Louisville Scales, about 30 minutes west of there more or less on the Crashville interstate. If I can find it I'll be happy to scan and upload it to prove to one particular troll that yes dear JBH ran those Eagles in C/O.
I was thinking about that particular tractor the other day, other than the power steering which was fixed like within hours. Not just fixed but REPLACED.... none of that old tired arguing about money. I guess it's nice if you are a thousand gazillion dollar outfit overflowing in money... That tractor was near perfect excepting the old shoes on the drives. They kept saying oh no, you get a new one come spring. That one going to junk pile no use putting money into it.
ORLY? Thank you kind sirs for that 700 plus dollar replacement bill. Surely you can afford a few drums for winter, after all you stuck 10 virgin tires on there when I hired on for me.
Drums and shoes. They cannot be that pricey.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
