Being leased onto a company you have no choice but to run a ELD. The HOS have been unchanged since 2003 and you say now all of a sudden it's the problem. I haven't much if any complaining about the hos until the ELD showed up. Why? Because the eld leave no room what so ever for error. Take into consideration weather, traffic, accidents, etc. Now no matter what happens your drive time runs out you must shut down NO MATTER where you are be it the side of the road, the fuel island, doesn't matter. it's up to the officer to decide if your worthy enough to "let it slide" or if you are in violation. What gives them the right to tell me when I'm tired or if the weather is bad enough to sit and wait it out. We've been basically forced to drive when it was unsafe to do so because sitting eats up the drive hours and appointments would be missed. I'm sorry but this is America where we have the freedom of choice. How is that freedom if someone is telling you how you feel? I have no problem with HOS before the mandate, we have been forced into unsafe situations that just plain wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the ELD

Do you run as many miles as you did before the mandate? Do you make as much money as before? If so you must be one of the very few I have come in contact with since Nov

I think ELD played a part in the rate spike. However, I could be wrong, but I might be right if I ain't wrong. Plus I am lazy and do not want to work more than I have to.

I didn’t run paper and have no desire to work more for less.
    I run 9800-11000 miles a month and gross 20-26k a month.
It’s not hard running on an ELD. Plan your trips and don’t say yes to loads that you either can’t make or put you in unsafe situations.

So what ur saying in public is you want ELDs to be removed so you can false ur logs lol. Hos has been messed up for years and years. I have never been forced into a unsafe environment from a ELD. I've never been forced to drive 30mph in a truck stop because of eld.

CorsairFanboy, PoleCrusher and magoo68 Thank this.

I believe that, elds must have played in the rate spike for sure. And without elds you can be a lazy as you want as long as that load arrives on time you get your pay. Having an eld once you go on duty you gotta drive or won't make it. Like you said I could be wrong and might be right if I ain't wrong lol

So what you’re saying is you had problem with HOS because you only obeyed the law on loose leaf, not in real time like the eldakes you. HOS has changed several times since 2003. I’m leased and I’d still be running loose leaf if I would have kept my old truck last year.
