    Look OP, I have commented about this at that link that there should be no exemption at all.

    I also have written to the OOIDA telling them to drop this stupid quest to get rid of ELDs and focus on things we need to get done for all of us, CARB's unconstitutional actions against out of state trucks and the HOS 2003 version that needs to return to the HOS 1962.

    Both of those are a bigger threat to all of us than ELDs could ever be.

    OOIDA's last attempt at CARB was done in a haphazard manner with a predictable outcome and the OOIDA's lack of any concern about the HOS 2003 restrictions and lack of latitude plus the special considerations needed to create exemptions.

    I have considered to renounce my life time membership to the OOIDA and so have many of my drivers because of their stupid silliness to chase the wrong things.

    No I'm not saying in public I want to false the logs. That's plain ignorance no wonder you would see it that way. I am saying we have been forced to park on the freaking exit ramps and yes drive faster than we normally would. That is something we would NEVER do before Nov. But lack of parking and #######es on the road all take up precious drive time. I can say with certainty that before Nov, our logs were clean and honest so get that straight. We just had more freedom to choose how we ran the load.

    Your full of ####. Trucks always park on the Ramps well before NOV. People ALWAYS broke the speed limit that won't change. Where are your Facts or are you just speaking out of ur ###? You wanna fight ELD's so you can run when you want is what ur saying. Why can't u do that with a ELD? Simple because you wanna FAKE ur logs... ELD's do NOTHING but keep u honest. 11 hours driving 14 on duty has NOT CHANGED. so explain how a ELD VS PAPER is difference? ELD'S are here to stay they will not be leaving any time soon. Im a betting man and i bet in 2-3 years these guys buying older trucks to get around ELD. That won't be happening cuz they will find away to track it. Everyone has a smart phone i just may make an Device that allows tracking for these guys running 1999 and older trucks that plugs into the Cig lighter and tracks what you do just like a cell phone.

    Wow the ignorance in this post is unbelievable. Let me say this, in real life and on paper we are totally and completely legit. I say to get rid of the ELD because an HOS change would just plain and simple take to long. With the studies, polls and everything they say they must do to change a rule such as the hos. It would be 5 years minimum before anything got done. To take out the eld until they have figured it out is the simplest thing to do. I definitely agree there needs to be more flexibility in the hos but forced expenses and regulations is not the way to get your point across. Let's not sacrifice safety for the pleasure of a buck

    You know what, they don't need studies, they don't need polls, they don't need to do a thing other than to void all of the HOS 2003 regs and replace it with HOS 1962, that's all. Everything has been done and done over twice under both HOS rules, no need to do anything else.

    ELDs are progress. We can deal with it as much as we could deal with load auctions on the internet and Brokers who scrap loads and repost them.

    ELD does not mean you never lie.
    Who does not go off duty in traffic jam.
    Yard move from one truck stop to a different truck stop 3 miles away.
    And other ways to lie like lie about when you got unloaded so you could start your ten.
    The eld is only another tracking device period.

    I said should have been, as if every one obeyed the law, not need or anything similar. We all know a lot of creative writing was going on, which is why ELD will never go away. The Feds are actually vindicated by this response, but they also understand some flexibility is needed, which is why they’ve already completely redefined line 5/ personal use exemption less than 6 months from the mandate.

    I NEVER said trucks didn't park on exit ramps. I said WE NEVER DID. That's stupidity and hella unsafe. And yes people speed ok but WE NEVER DID. We have changed our habits to conform with the man. I want to changed elds so we can run when we want yes. And not be forced to drive drowsy, or in 60+ mph wind (which we have also done since Nov) if you idiots want to call it faking a log then #### it whatever. It is what it is but I'll tell you the reset NEVER once was faked. I can tell you until I'm red in the face itll make no difference because ignorance is bliss and y'all living in ignorance. 11 drive and 14 on duty hasn't changed if you read I said the same thing. Now all of a sudden people all for the eld are #####ing about hours. Again I never #### about hos until it was being forced. And your right they'll find a way to get them 99 and older trucks but why do you care if your all about elds run yours and shut your mouth why do you care what those trucks do. we are not in kindergarten anymore. Ooo teacher he doesn't have to do it so I don't want to either. If you think elds ain't going nowhere then man up and quit hating on the older trucks

    Forced expenses? Cmon man, get a better argument. Log books weren’t free. 2290 and IRP isn’t free. Insurance isn’t free either, and all of that is mandated.
