I have a truck that was manufactured in 1999 but model year on registration is 2000. Would it be exempt from Eld as both the truck & engine were manufactured in 1999 but the year on registration makes me doubtful. If anyone could clarify this

So it's the model year that maters, not the build date. I also could not find any guidance for engine vs. chassis model year, so I don't know how that's handled in Canada.

Not sure about canada, but here in the us both cab and engine must have a tag proving the manufacturing year regardless of the model year.

In the vehicle world. The new model year starts in August production.

In the semi world. It starts earlier. The 16 FL I drove was manufactured in April 2015. Took possession in may.

    Seems stupid to me.

The w900 is on it's last year. Only 900 being produced. Limited edition. I work with #64 of 900. It has 50k miles so I don't know when they took possession but it's a 24 model year.

Looks like its just a limited edition W900 for this year, celebrating 100 years of Kenworth. Don't see anything saying its done its production run.

It’s not the end of the 900L. They’re still available to order without all the hundred year stuff, just have to find a dealer with build spots.
