@Diesel Dave, @boneebone
These guys have done it. I'm sure the installer must be certified by the State of CA for the filter installation.Diesel Dave and mikie10_king Thank this. -
If you tell carb you cant afford to put dpf on the truck and show em' how you have been denied a loan for a newer truck they will let you" pass "for awhile longer. How long? I dont know! Have you seen all the old smoke belching rust buckets roaming california highways? Anyway, i got this info from another driver who said he read it on the carb website. Is it true? Dont know!
mikie10_king and Bakerman Thank this. -
I was in Fontana on Thurs and saw an old FLD with what looked like a hole in his sleeper above the windshield, he has patched it with some duct tape and then spray painted it to match the color of the truck!
It was pretty rough looking.6daysontheroad Thanks this. -
To retrofit, I've heard quotes from 10-12K. I'd have to run a LOT of California to make that worth my time. I'll stick with my "under 500 miles a year in California" exemption.
rachi and mikie10_king Thank this. -
I'd bet the parts you couldn't see were in worse shape.Bakerman Thanks this.

What a racket that is.
Camelclutch, Sipesh and Bakerman Thank this. -
I'm sure the companies doing those retrofits totally aren't making "donations" to the powers that be in California, either. It is a total scam, and they even had to admit after a ruling last year that the retrofit systems damage the engines they are put onto... but no one will stop them. Ex post facto is meaningless to these CARB clowns.

he probably had a shiny new $15,000 dpf hidden on there somewhere, lol
