Looking a getting a glider and they offer a CAT C-16. Who has them and what do you you think? Better then the C-15? Both the C-15 and C-16 would be single turbo and 2001 motors. They offer both motors with a 5 year/500,000 mile warranty.

i've heard of them never seen one in person from what i hear is they're 600hp+ motors great for heavy hauling but a bit overkill for run of the mill flat bedding, van, or reefer. i personally pull 100k+ gross daily and the 475hp 1650ft-lbs of torque c-15 has treated me very well here in maine so a c-15 full torque should do well. what are you gonna haul?

Just make sure that you get enough radiator when you spec it out, I had a c-15 500, and everytime I got within a mile from the top of Donner I had to drop several gears to keep cool, pretty much the same story on all the mountain passes in the west. It was a wonderful horse, just make sure you have enough radiator.

It is my understanding that they have three different size radiators for these, once you have made your choice on radiator size, it is to late to change it without an added expense, if you are building one up, I would find out exactly which size radaitor is available and spec it for the mountain passes if you are going to pull a reefer. I didn't and should have.

there is a lot more to building a truck than the raditor. raditor ,cac, trans, rears, air intake, body style, the list goes on and on. decide what you want and build it from there. my thoughts make everthing 25% bigger than you need. you should always be safe that way. rember your right foot controls everthing. BIGGER IS ALWAYS BETTER.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are right on hmtruk, if you are building one, you better research it out and do it right the first time, it is considerably cheaper that way.
