    Has anyone had any experience with CAT Comm adapter 2 or 3???
    Looking to purchase one with the software and CAT ET.

    Get the Nexiq 125032 USB Link...cheaper. Comes with 6 and 9 adapter, and works with Win XP and 7.

    what limitations are there with "costumer" license? I cant imagine what dealer license would cost.

    personally I like the CAT COM3 as I can use it with Cat On HWY and OFF HWY where the Nexiq is only good for CAT ON HWY.. The other Bonus with the CAT COM3 is it works with Detroit, Cummins, Road Ranger etc etc. 1 adaptor does near all.

    The only thing a CAT Com 3 will work on that a Nexiq won't are Caterpillar construction machines. If you're a diesel mechanic, and will be working on anything and everything, it's the only way to go. However, if you're strictly going to work on truck engines and truck engines alone, the Nexiq will work just fine.

    I am hearing you bubbanbrenda but so many people I know who have a Nexiq only because all they wanted to read was trucks then ask me why they cant read their mates Bulldozer.
    I bought a Cat "Compact" Adaptor a few weeks back made in China and it was 1/2 the price of the Nexiq and does CDL, ATA & J1939.. Bargain I thought!!! see how long it lasts.
