not producing truck engines.
-
I would say there's a good chance there's a yellow engine under the hood of a CAT truck.
I would imagine they are going to eventually try the OTR market as well... -
I agree with T800H, it says they are going to produce a truck, it says nothing about an engine.
-
They are already producing engines for International... the 15L MaxxForce... I would imagine since it's a C-15 with different electronics/emission controls it would still fit in a CAT truck.
-
Their International trucks with the cat name on them. The engines are going to be the IH engine that Cat helped designe. Their basicly a cat block and heads with an IH fuel system. Not sure what color they will paint the engine. Cat yellow or the IH blue.
-
If you mix just the right amount of blue with just the right amount of yellow you get get green.....good lord its a DETROIT!!RAG, Working Class Patriot and Huggins989 Thank this.
-
Good lord its a green boat anchor.
-
still snickering over that one...

Stupid question because I don't know how all the emission stuff works exactly. I know the CAT/IH motor was suppose to be the only one going the route of more EGR vs. SCR like other mfg's. But how far off or out of compliance would a newly produced pre Acert motor (MBN C-15 or 2KS C 12) be if they added the new external emission controls to that?
Seemed the Acerts really had issue once the DPF's were added because of the twin turbo with additional emission programming in the ECM. Just curious as it would shake the engine market up if they said we're back!ronnyenns Thanks this.
