I drove for 3 years otr, until I had a jackknife accident with Schneider. Nobody else was involved, no injuries, no charges, no tickets...I was able to drive the truck back to the terminal, and was terminated later that day. The accident is not listed on my MVR, but is listed on DAC. About 2 months ago I received a letter from Ga. DDS, stating that my CDL was invalid. I attended Swift Driving Academy in August 2005, and I am one of the many drivers who has to retake the CDL exam. Now, here's my question.... I"ve been off the road, not driving, for almost 2 years. How long does an accident stay on DAC, and can I go back to a truck driving school and retake the course? If my CDL was invalid, wouldn't the records on DAC be invalid also?

One has nothing to do with the other. DAC is for ever and the status of you CDL has nothing to do with your DAC.

MY FRIEND you do not have to go to truck driving sachool to get your CDL reinstated all the law requires is for you to take a written test and a road test and if you dont have any outstandig violations you can get the CDL.
as for DAC they are a private company much like a credit reporting agency they can keep the incident on your record as long as they want but most good companys do not pay much attention to them there acuracy leaves a lot to be desired.
now im sure your going to hear a whole bunch of people that think there attorneys tell you you have to go back to school but in fact you didnt have to do all that in the first pace all you have to do is pass the ritten and road test if your in doubt just takes a phone call to your DMV.
usally if a company dosent hire you its because of the insurance company.
best of luck.----southernpride -
You might want to check that DAC info for accuracy. On mine, things fall off, its either 7 or 10 years, but not forever. At least mine works that way. Anybody know for sure ??
