    I was on Paxil for a short while long long ago. I didn't have any issue other than having to have my doctor who prescribed the Paxil (I asked for the prescrption wasn't diagnosed with any depression or anxiety), provide a written note stating that it did not affect my ability to drive or operate machinery safely. Some of those physical doctors can be bungholes. Just find another doctor.

    With that number you are good for a one year card. Anything over 140/90 is good for one year. If you are like me at home mine runs 125/80 ish at home..at doc I am lucky if it's less than 140/90. Try not to sweat it..there are so many knuckle draggers getting certified. I saw one last year at the fuel pump wearing a portable oxygen machine... Doesn't make it right but #### here I am in decent health and this ##### doc tried to flunk me at my last physical.. Won't be going back there..She did end up giving me a one year card. Good luck you can do it

    Thanks. That's really ridiculous though. Literally anything under 140/100 is normal. So many hypochondriacs these days LOL. And only 1 year? Pfftt. Trucking seems like the lowest job security in the world.

    Oh it's great job security, plenty of demand, the physical is just a small obstacle. The big part is knowing you can handle all that comes at you on the road and you are ready for the challenge . You got to really want to do it. I got through the first years and now I make good money..it's that first year with the steep learning curve that's the hardest.

    I mean the driving aspect seems the easiest for me. I don't how confusing the rest of it is, such as knowing delivery routes/schedules/backing into docs..etc but my driving tolerance is very high. Ever since I got my license I've been doing 150+ miles joyride every other day, sometimes consecutive days, just for fun. I don't feel stressed out in the slightest after hours and hours of non-stop driving. 6-7 hours feels like 10 minutes and have good reaction time + can handle weird scenarios on the road without losing my mind unlike alot of other people. I drive 30,000 miles a year for fun, and am still doing 200+ mile joyrides 6 years later. That's why I thought it may be a good job, at keast for a while.

    @Mike2357
    One Other Possibility:
    1)
    Become a forklift operator in a really busy warehouse such as a Coca-Cola distribution center.
    2) You are constantly moving around operating a very much needed piece of equipment. The pay & benefits aren't bad either. Also, you will get to go home every day.

    The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.
    [IMG]
    Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

    Yep, they are definitely essential workers. You guys should make at least $100,000 a year, net, and have lower taxes due to your essential status. I currently live at home and would love to spend a few months by myself here and there, so that's not an issue for me. I hope one day, whether from cars or trucks, that I have driven every mile of the signed interstate highway system!

    How nervous should I be about this physical? I mean it sounds like this step will make or break your career. What are the docs going to do in this exam? Drug screen? Exercise on one of those treadmills with all that breathing equipment until you can't go anymore? Make you balance on one foot for a long time? Draw blood? Take urine? I mean what should I expect and should I dress up or something? Am I 'selling' myself as healthy?
