I am seeking advise from anyone who has anything interesting to say or knowlege about CDL test sites in the state of Indiana. I am trying to get a CDL, have passed all my written test and have taken the skills/driving test twice. It seems to me that I am being nit picked badly. I'm not new to Truck Driving. I have been driving Semi Tractor & Trailer's for farm use for 20 yrs. I have also been driving Fire Engines and Ladder trucks for 17yrs. I have worked on them with my dad and for the Fire Dept Garage for several years. I will just say I believe there are some problems with the test site I have been going to. It seems that I am being held to a higher standard than some other people I know who have taken this test from what I have been told by several people. And frankly, it's getting to be quite expensive. Where should I go?

Hello, DRM and Welcome to the Site

Don't get discouraged. It is common for drivers to have to take the test more than once. The stress of worrying about it does not help during test time, in which I am sure you are aware.
Best of Luck!!!! -
I took my 1st test at the Fort Wayne test site ( North American Van Lines), after 1 week in a truck, no school. I failed the skills test. I didn't care for the personnel there much, made me uncomfortable. I took my 2nd test 1 week later in Wakarusa, In. (Horizon Transport), and passed. The people there were a lot more laid back and I was a lot more relaxed. I didn't see that site listed on the above list, it's been 16 yrs. ago, but you might check with BMV or call Horizon Transport to see if they still have a test site. I can get you their phone number if you can't find it, just let me know.
