Close enough to what you said in the other post.jamespmack and tucker Thank this.

That's probably the easiest way to lose your job or your career minus a serious accident. People see that on your record and you can forget getting almost any job, particularly anything worth your time. $2750 I believe plus whatever it's gonna cost trying to get it reduced. Best of luck, he's gonna need it
augiedoggie41 and pattyj Thank this. -
$2750 is the max fine and would probably take an accident or worse to get that kind of fine
street beater Thanks this. -
I found a lot too. None of which says if it is a moving violation.scottied67 Thanks this.

Ok then there's your answer.Calif said it isn t on your driving record but it is one point against the driver.Every state is different so I suggest looking up info on the state where this occurred.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I think I'd be more concerned about him keeping his job and profession over wether it's a moving violation or not.
Talking on the cell is a BIG no no.
Definitely hire a lawyer for a reduced charge. You'll still pay the fine. But the priority is to keep that off his record.
Did he get an inspection also? Or just a citation? -
Here in SC it is a moving violation. It will show up somewhere.
-
Does he already have other stuff on his mvr?
-
Moving violation really isn't the chief concern as someone already pointed out. It's the fact that his company's insurance provider is gonna have a fit he's working there with that on his record. I'll be surprised if he's not terminated, it's probably gonna be too costly to the company to keep him
