I spent many a night in the ol' "salt lake cellblock" @ dick simon (central)

those rooms are pretty bad... but keep a good outlook and your goals in mind.

hehhehehe man!!! we used to terrorize west valley back in the 90's!!!

Cell block is right, that's for sure. Jesus, it couldn't look more like a work release facility if they tried. lol

Well I am home now, had to come home in the middle of training due to a family health issue, hoping to get back around next week sometime.

I have all the skills, except the parallel park, which should be outlawed lol, to get my CDL. I left on wednesday, which was city driving, and thursday would have been mountain driving, and yard skill refresh. So when I return I will be all set up.

I just want to get back and get that CDL over with and start making some money. Course the stuying doesn't stop there. After OTR training, I have to do the open book upgrade test, then wait for a truck/load to get home, then retake my Written skills test for my State... curse you ID. Then back onto the road. Seems like a good way to spend a month, while my trainer gets my miles.

it is all work to get to your goals.

it is very easy for a new driver to give up when they see all the hurdles...

I remember all the crazy things that went through my head - and now - looking back it was worth all the pain

    and I do mean PAIN.

I should be all set to go back on the 10th. And let me tell ya, I can't wait.
I have been climbing the walls this past week.
I am tired of looking at these same four walls.
What's worse, is the scenery never changes.

The open book test is a peace of cake.
I went thru the upgrade test without watching the movies. I had to end up watching 2 of them in order to pass the particular tests, but I was upgraded within 2 hours.
Good luck, I see some snow coming to the area, it will be a good experiance in mountian driving.

    Mine is the top bunk.
My room mate didn't have crap for bedding, and the one after didn't have anything at all, till he went to walmart. and he was just going through the upgrade.
How he made it a month on the road with no bedding is beyond me.

So that is why my recruiter told me, and I quote,

"Do I need to have my CDL Permit before coming?" I said.
"No, in fact we prefer you not to!", She said.:biggrin_25520:
