Does anybody know anything about becoming a certified freight agent? I've heard about a lot of truckers doing this while working as an owner op and wanted to look a little further into it.All I know at this point is you're somehow cutting out the middleman and becoming the middle man thus not having to pay somebody else for work their doing...

What is a 'Certified Freight Agent'?
-
Certified by Whom?????????
-
No kidding. The only 'Certified Freight Agent' thing I have ever seen is the 'schools' that teach one how to become a broker. You don't need a school to do that, and these outfits are just making money on something that a person with a clue as to how to treat drivers, the right amount of money, some drive, and the ability to sell their services can do on their own.

Before I jumped into being an O/O I thought about doing this but got a bad feeling from these schools. Kept wondering what I was missing. One of the selling points is when you "graduate" you are get a job or your money back. Ha! If by a job you mean I can work for commission only, not even a draw, and all clients I create are the property of the broker I am working under.
And all of these "jobs" I could get without paying thousands to become "Certified".Lilbit Thanks this. -
No doubt there!
