C H Robinson, like any other broker, will need to be "invoiced" once you have your own authority and have delivered freight for them. You send a copy of the load confirmation that they faxed or emailed you, the signed BOL or a copy of it, and an invoice. The invoice should state the amount of money they owe you for the job, your invoice number and invoice date, the p/u and delivery info (city, state, company, date), and their load # number. They get this bill and send you a check. Some companies will accept all this via fax and some will only accept it in the mail.

When you see a load on Robinson's board, or on any board, you call the number and come to an agreement on what you will haul it for. Then they fax you a confirmation of this agreement. You don't have to fax it back to Robinson, but with about all other brokers you sign it and fax it back before picking up the load. I don't believe that there are any boards where you do everything online without talking to the brokerage on the phone.

Dug this one out of the graveyard, again it seems. CH Robinson is a bunch of lying idiots. Pay aside (my only dealings as a Co Driver) they lie out their arse to get drivers or companies to take loads saying the load is ready when it isn't. Saying the shipper is waiting on you, when they aren't. Or giving the wrong (way earlier) delivery time sometimes days off, Just to get the carrier or driver to take it.

I found that to always be true when I was a company driver. It's amazing the difference in information a person gets when they call up as a "dispatcher" interested in booking a load, as opposed to a driver calling in to get dispatched. It also opened my eyes up to how lousy the company I was leased to before was about giving out pertinent information on the brokered loads they booked for me - of course I already knew that from experience. Brokered loads weren't their thing and I doubt they even asked the questions I asked, they just booked it as a "cheap" load to relocate the truck and didnt care what I had to go through to get it done. I do things differently and if I was ever dispatching trucks I'd make sure my drivers had everything they needed to know.. Robinson agents have always told me everything they know, if I asked the right questions, FCFS etc, sometimes the agent will tell me if they ever hear about complaints from drivers on wait times at both ends etc. Of course sometimes they don't know that either. They're a mega company and the person dispatching you on any given load isnt necessarily the person who manages freight for that particular customer. They aren't even the same person who you negotiated the rate with. Kind of cumbersome to deal with after you've already booked a load sometimes but the fact that they pay so quickly and I always get my rate from them it doesn't really bother me.

Looks like someone ressurected a dead post??
CHR pays quick. You just have to know what you want/need to haul a
load and say NO THANK YOU or the like when it doesn't pay what you want.
Sad to say I have agent in area I'm in, I've hauled about 4 loads to one place at 675, which wasn't bad and thyen another agent offered me 900 to same place. 323 miles

We do a bit, and more lately, of CHR loads. Plenty of cheap rates offered. Only good rates accepted. Have never had them lie to me. As far as giving a complete picture of the load, they are one of the better ones.

I have had some pretty good experiences with them. A lot of them have been honest on the phone and just out right said their rates were crap on certain loads. We mostly deal with the Richmond branch and often get pretty good rates offered.

LOL! Sounds like me at times... I far prefer spot market rates because I'll flat out ask an O/O what they realistically need to survive and will spot it for them in that area.
