was changing fuel filter today noticed it was full temps are very cold sub zero last few days, filter was full this morning, I did used howe's in the last few days in the tanks, but couldn't get the filter drain valve to drain, does this require the vent cap to be removed to get it to drain??? i think it may be frozen at the bottom but the truck started fine, I still changed the filter, truck running but new fuel filter shows just about full again because i didnt drain it, help please. Are we talking about a Davco, the one with the clear plastic dome? If so mine normally takes a few miles to pull down.

Yes the exact one, should I check it tomorrow after I drive it? What the worse case scenario driving with a full fuel filter?

Did you fill it to the top or did it rise after you started the truck? I normally fill mine about half way.

With the engine shut off loosen the top cap and then drain some fuel out. It will not drain well unless you loosen the top cap.
