I'm glad to see that most drivers prefer to drive during the day.I personally find finding a parking space in the evening one of the most aggravating things about this job.I don't find any problem getting on a mid.0100 or 02oo schedule difficult and I know that i will have a large assortment of parking at my disposal from 1100 to 1300.no stress there.Plus going thru a major city at 0300-0400 much better than rush hour,so please keep on driving those daytime runs!
May I make a suggestion...first try them during hometime, because they affect people in different ways. Some people wake up rested and fresh, while others wake up feeling groggy...like myself.

I would.I am happily married and looking into the trucking industry to team drive with my husband in a couple of years. He is retired military and currently a computer geek. When our youngest child graduates from high school in 2 years, we are getting our CDL's and team driving for about 5 years and banking the money and then retire for real. If you are ever in the tidewater area, look us up, I will ride with you (you are married, right?) and find my own way home and see if we like it! I am a homemaker!
What's a sleep pattern? All kidding aside, you do what you have to, those hours prior to dawn, when you haven't had your rest , tend to be dangerous. I shut down if needed but as far as changing your sleep pattern, it may or may not work, if it doesn't, and your boss demands you not stop, it's probably time to do something else for someone else. Pills don't work for me and a two hour nap seldom is enough.
All I have to say to this is ... Muahahahahahah! (My folks used to live in Billyburg and N/N. Dad was at CEBAF,but that's been renamed now, and Mom was an interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg) Oh - yeah. Am married. 25 years come October. 28 years together. Those tired hours - 'those hours prior to dawn', as you call them (nicely put) - tend to occur at different times of the waking day for most people. They tend to be about 8 hours after you wake up - that's one reason people tend to feel sluggish in mid-afternoon. Then you perk a bit, and slowly taper off as you approach your body's sleepy time - which can vary from day to day, based on a number of things - like how much sleep you've had in the past 72 hours, what you've eaten, how much stress you are under... etc. And, of course, if varies from person to person. I typically need less than 6 hours of sleep a day. My wife needs 9 or more. I sleep best during the day, she sleeps at night. (So, trucking will work for us - we never see each other anyway) What I find interesting is a recent study seems to indicate that the *first* hour of driving is actually the most dangerous. I think that was reported on this board a month or so ago.
