Hi, I have a 97 chevy long box that I'm looking to swap the 305 to a crate 383 stroker. I know that its gonna make my truck a little harder to control so I was thinking about weighing it down. Any ideas on the best way of doing this without loading up the box with large chunks of wood or metal?
Thanks!

Why weigh it down? They sold ss with a 454 and didn’t weigh it down.
If you’re afraid of the power, just drop a stock reman 350 in it.
Edit: better yet, run 40” tires with 2:06 gears. That will tame the beastD.Tibbitt and roadranger550 Thank this. -
I tend to think you may be expecting a bit much from that stroker. lol

Just put a LS7 in it and be done.

Adding weight defeats the purpose of adding power under the hood, and your man card ought to be revoked for even thinking such a thought let alone posting about it.

Unless you plan to toss in a bunch of power mods, the basic stroker build won't net you much more horsepower than a 350. Some, but not a lot. You will get quite a bit more torque though. Nothing to cause any real concern. Just don't let your friends borrow it. Tires get expensive when they do doughnuts in the grocery store parking lot at 2am.

10-12-14 bolt rear end?
A round 10 bolt will spill it's guts rather quickly. Amusing to everyone but the owner... -
I'd go with a 350 if they're still around.
Engines were a plenty so parts are the cheapest. Or they used to be anyways. -
