Appears on the road surface, NO SKID MARKS before or at Impact, therefore such suggests the 4 wheel "driver" wasn't fully Paying Attention and as suggested in comments to the article, 4 wheel "driver" may just as well have crashed or bounced off wall possibly/probably causing extensive Damages to said vehicle as well possibly/probably other Vehicles, but let's always blame the C.M.V.'s!!
I'm rolling with "Lack Of Adequate california CMV Parking"!!
I did drive to and in California quite MANY Times for a Few Companies and ALWAYS had Problems with Parking, unless I was Bobtail OR Driving for a Company with a California Location.
Agreement, Disagreement, Thank You!
YOU, THE DRIVER, ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR SAFETY & WELL BEING!!bryan21384 and lovesthedrive Thank this. -

Not just California needs more truck parking. Everywhere more truck parking is needed.
Flat Earth Trucker, alds, Bud A. and 7 others Thank this. -
Yep and this kinda thing is getting more and more common. Rest areas are closed or rebuilt to exclude trucks, citys ban truck parking, trucks are chased out of their own home driveways, truckstops are chased away or made as small as posible, EPA regulations make new truckstops near imposible to open in many lcoations just due to permit costs and a general host of other issues.
Granted we drivers arent blameless in this. A lot of our ilk are absolute pigs, hit stuff causeing tons of damage, or literally piss and #### all over the place making us undesireable in a given area beyond the bare minimum required. But i also think the lack of parking and over regulation are feeding into some of the above making the problem much worse for a lot of reasons.
Doesnt help that a lot of the new drivers are usually bottom of the barrel and the good drivers usually find a nich or just walk away to find a better job elsewheredrvrtech77, Gearjammin' Penguin, Cattleman84 and 9 others Thank this. -

Of all people, the CHP should know there aren’t nearly enough places to park. If they give a rats ### about safety on the highways they oversee, they’d be truckers number one advocate for more parking.
drvrtech77, alds, Cattleman84 and 7 others Thank this. -
The Truck shouldn’t be parked there period. Sleepy Drivers tend to slam into Vehicles parked on shoulders. Thinking they’re following a moving Vehicle. Parking on Shoulders and exit ramps is asking to be hit. Very common.
otherhalftw, Bud A., Grouch and 1 other person Thank this. -
True. But what do they do when they breakdown? Stop in the middle of traffic because you dont want to see them on the shoulder? That is what the backlash was about. The CHP didnt bother to say if the trucker needed help. Or if they bothered to help the truckerFlat Earth Trucker, alds, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this.

I was referring to Drivers taking their breaks on a Shoulder. If He was broke down, with triangles out. He wouldn’t be parked illegally. That’s all the shoulder for. Fact is if you’re parked illegally and get hit. You’re Liable. If you weren’t parked Illegally, wouldn’t have gotten hit. That’s all I meant.Bud A., Team818 and lovesthedrive Thank this.
