Filters?

A friend of mine didn't know that he even had inside filters, has owned the truck for like 5 years...pulled them out and they looked like a quilt. lol

 

check to make sure the fan is going in right rotation--on a truck of that year--it has probabely be changed out a couple of times-- other than that--you pretty much have to pull the heater and evaporter cores out to see how bad they are--should be a little fiber filter in there as well

 

this is Century / columbia information unknown on classics. Yet there is a pre-air filter right by the main filter that is rectangular (2 clips) inside the engine compartment. Remove it for a test and see how your air blows. The problem with it out is that all the dirt that is outside now has a direct shot at the cab.

 

I used to think mine was clean by looking at the visible side of the heater core. You have to tear the dash apart and clean the hair/lint/fuzz from the windward side of the evaporator. That would be in between the htr and evap cores.

It will blow like a hurricane once its clean.

Same with the sleeper unit.

Then buy some of that cheap a/c filter media for window a/c and cut out a filter to fit where you need it. I put it on cab and bunk units.

 

I just replaced mine for the same reason. In my classic it cost $78....
