    I got a "newsletter" today from my dealer.
    In it there was this:
    http://www.tunap.co.uk/Products/DIESEL-PARTICULATE-FILTER
    Now this product is not sold in the USA but that does not matter.

    My question is : Has anyone used a similiar product in preventive maintenance off a DPF?
    And if you have used this what where the results?

    BG Products has a similar system and the service is available at various places around the country. I'm going to give it a try next month when I take my truck to the Cummins dealer in Richmond, VA for it's annual overhead. I would have also been having the DOC and DPF removed to be baked but I'm going to try 'mechanic in a can' first.

    Edit: I'm waiting on a call back with the price and I'll update when I get it.

    Ehhhh. How much does it typically cost you to get your DPFs cleaned? We charge around $350 here, and I think that's a better price than hoping some product doesn't take out your DPF....

    Where are you? The lowest price I'm finding is about $850 for both including r&r.

    Sorry y'all. I didn't realize this was in the mechanics only forum. Since its been over 40 years since I turned wrenches for a living I guess this mere driver needs to leave.

    We have a couple customers that have used it. Doesnt seem to do anything. Usually when something sounds to good to be true.....
    Pressure washer seems to work not bad on the other hand. Not recommending it, just have had customers do it and it seems to work as good as the 650 cummins charges to clean it. The livespan on a cleaned filter is never what a new one is though.

    It might cost more if you include the R&R....we have a DPF machine and most customers will bring in their DPF already removed so we can clean it for them :)

    Typically about $250 for stage 1 cleaning, $350 for stage 2 cleaning

    @Belials
    What criteria do your clients use to decide when it is time to bake the DPF?
    Fixed time interval,wait till they get fault code or use the central dash soot gauge?
