As a climate driver , I'll try an answer. Sometimes ya take a load there if say you're gonna be really early for a delivery in the area. Ya drop it and move on to doing something else. They do have some drivers that do some local work that may deliver it or perhaps someone else may come along that say that particular delivery may work better with their schedule. Sometimes us road drivers get stuck doing little rinky dink city moves. It doesn't pay very well to mess around with that small stuff though. I've been told ya can request local pay for that stuff but i don't know what local pay would consist of. Sometimes empties get dropped there an sometimes they just get taken on to other customers. It's all just a matter of what dispatch needs and how they plan stuff.

Right , craftsmen is a drop yard for several different companies that rent parking space from craftsmen. Craftsmen is actually a utility trailer shop. They ,i believe even actually build trailers there as well. They have quite the shop an assembly floor inside.

Professor pretty much said it all......I've had to do some of those city runs from time to time. I like to call those "do me a favor runs." Lol every blue moon I'll get local pay. I don't sweat it much. Its mostly the runs that drop off in O' Fallon at the Aldi's or the Pepsi run. Last week I actually picked a long run from Craftsmen. They loaded it New Century and dropped it for me to grab later that day

Man.......you'll get detention every time you go there. It's a weird system they have....park, check in, dock, pull out, park with your flashers and wait in your truck for your seal and paperwork

Where there's a will , there's a way come on. I'd not let a gearshift hold me up if we had em.
